Sniffari Privacy Policy

Sniffari records dog walks. This policy describes what data the app handles. Sniffari runs no server of its own: nothing you record is ever sent to us.

What we collect and where it lives

• Location. While a walk is being recorded, Sniffari uses your device's precise location to measure the route and distance. The route is stored in the app's private database on your device and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your private iCloud database, which only you can access.
• Walk details you enter. Pee/poop events, sniff timing, and your dog's name are stored in the same place as your routes.
• Sign in with Apple (optional). If you sign in, Apple gives Sniffari an anonymous user identifier and, the first time only, the name you choose to share. Both are stored on your device (in the keychain) and used only to show who is signed in. You can use Sniffari without signing in.
• iCloud sync. Your walks are mirrored to your private iCloud database by Apple's CloudKit service, under Apple's privacy policy. We cannot read that database.
• Weather. The app may request current weather for your walk location from Apple's WeatherKit service, handled by Apple under the same policy.
• Purchases. Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details.

What we do NOT do

• No email/password accounts, no server of ours, no data we can read.
• No analytics or tracking SDKs. No advertising.
• No data sold, shared, or transmitted to any third party.

Data retention and deletion

• Deleting a walk in History removes it permanently from your device and, if syncing, from your iCloud database.
• Settings › Delete All Walks removes every walk the same way.
• Settings › Delete Account & Data removes your walks and your dog and signs you out on this device. To revoke Sign in with Apple entirely, use iOS Settings › Apple Account › Sign in with Apple.
• Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device.
